Sleep Apnea Screening Questionnaire
1. Have you been told (or noticed on your own) that you snore on most nights?
2. Have you been told (or noticed on your own) that you stop breathing or struggle to breathe in your sleep, sometimes followed by a gasp?
3. Are you tired, fatigued or sleepy on most days?
4. Do you have acid indigestion or high blood pressure (or use medication to control either of these conditions)?
5. Are you overweight?
If you answered yes or felt unsure about 3 or more questions, it is recommended that you see a qualified sleep specialist. Different treatment options exist; which is right for you depends upon the severity of your apnea and other aspects of the disorder. Talk to your doctor about choices. Untreated, obstructive sleep apnea can be extremely serious and cannot be ignored.
